About the formats
ICO (Windows Icon, 1985) is the icon format used by Windows and by website favicons. One ICO file can hold several sizes (16×16 up to 256×256), so the right one is shown in tabs, desktops and taskbars.
TIFF (Tagged Image File Format, 1986) is a high-quality format used in printing, scanning and professional photography. It stores images without quality loss and can hold several pages in one file. TIF and TIFF are the same format with a different file extension.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert ICO to TIFF?
Drop your ICO files into the box above (or tap Select files), check the options, then press Convert. Each TIFF downloads on its own, or you can download them all as one ZIP file.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser on your own device. Your ICO files are never sent to a server, so they stay private, and it works even on a slow connection once the page has loaded.
Is there a limit on how many ICO files I can convert?
No. Convert as many as you like, for free, without signing up. Very large batches are processed one after another so your browser stays responsive.
Will I lose quality converting to TIFF?
No. TIFF is lossless, so the converted image keeps every pixel of the original.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. It works in Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge on phones, tablets and computers. Nothing to install.
