WebP to JPG Converter
Turn WebP files into JPG in seconds. Everything happens on your device: nothing is uploaded, and there's no limit.
Your images are processed in this browser tab and never uploaded.
Why convert WebP to JPG?
Many apps, print services and older programs still don't accept WebP.
JPG works everywhere: every phone, computer, website and app accepts it, and photos stay small enough to email.
What to expect
- JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas become white.
Turning WebP downloads into normal photos
When an image from a website saves as WebP, JPG is the most compatible thing to turn it into: it opens in every photo viewer, phone gallery, print kiosk and upload form.
Because WebP is already compressed, converting at 90% quality keeps the image looking the same while staying small.
Tips
- Transparent areas in the WebP become white in the JPG. If the image is a logo or sticker, convert to PNG instead.
- Saving a site's image as JPG straight from the browser isn't possible in Chrome; converting here is the simplest route.
- Animated WebP becomes a still JPG of its first frame.

About the formats
WebP (WebP, 2010) is Google's modern web format. It makes files roughly 25–35% smaller than JPG or PNG at the same visual quality and supports both transparency and animation.
JPG (JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group), 1992) is the most widely used photo format in the world. It uses lossy compression that throws away detail the eye barely notices, which keeps photos small. JPG and JPEG are the same format: the shorter extension comes from old Windows versions that only allowed three letters.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert WebP to JPG?
Drop your WebP files into the box above (or tap Select files), check the options, then press Convert. Each JPG downloads on its own, or you can download them all as one ZIP file.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser on your own device. Your WebP files are never sent to a server, so they stay private, and it works even on a slow connection once the page has loaded.
Is there a limit on how many WebP files I can convert?
No. Convert as many as you like, for free, without signing up. Very large batches are processed one after another so your browser stays responsive.
What happens to the transparent background?
JPG can't store transparency, so transparent areas become white. If you need to keep transparency, convert to PNG or WebP instead.
Will I lose quality converting to JPG?
JPG uses lossy compression, but at the default 90% quality the difference is practically invisible. Move the Quality slider up for the highest fidelity or down for smaller files.
Is JPG or PNG better for a WebP photo?
For photos, JPG: much smaller and looks the same. For logos, screenshots or anything transparent, PNG.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. It works in Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge on phones, tablets and computers. Nothing to install.
