Why convert WebP to BMP?

Many apps, print services and older programs still don't accept WebP.

Some older programs, printers and embedded devices only accept uncompressed BMP files.

What to expect

  • BMP has no transparency, so transparent areas become white.
  • BMP is uncompressed, so the file will be much larger than the original.
  • Converting to BMP keeps every pixel of your WebP, but it can't restore detail that WebP compression already removed.

About the formats

WebP (WebP, 2010) is Google's modern web format. It makes files roughly 25–35% smaller than JPG or PNG at the same visual quality and supports both transparency and animation.

BMP (Windows Bitmap, 1990) is a simple, uncompressed Windows format. Files are large because every pixel is stored as-is, but almost any program, including very old software and embedded devices, can read it.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert WebP to BMP?

Drop your WebP files into the box above (or tap Select files), check the options, then press Convert. Each BMP downloads on its own, or you can download them all as one ZIP file.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser on your own device. Your WebP files are never sent to a server, so they stay private, and it works even on a slow connection once the page has loaded.

Is there a limit on how many WebP files I can convert?

No. Convert as many as you like, for free, without signing up. Very large batches are processed one after another so your browser stays responsive.

Will I lose quality converting to BMP?

No. BMP is lossless, so the converted image keeps every pixel of the original.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. It works in Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge on phones, tablets and computers. Nothing to install.
