About WebP
WebP (WebP, 2010) is Google's modern web format. It makes files roughly 25–35% smaller than JPG or PNG at the same visual quality and supports both transparency and animation.
Best for: images on websites, where smaller files mean faster pages. All current browsers show WebP. Some older desktop apps and print services still don't accept it.
Frequently asked questions
Which formats can I convert to WebP?
JPG, PNG, HEIC/HEIF, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, TIFF, SVG, ICO, Photoshop PSD and camera RAW files (CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, DNG, ORF, RW2, RAF and more). Mix different formats in one batch.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Everything is converted in your browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server.
Is there a limit?
No. Convert as many files as you like, for free, without an account.
Will I lose quality converting to WebP?
WebP uses lossy compression, but at the default 90% quality the difference is practically invisible. Move the Quality slider up for the highest fidelity or down for smaller files.
