SVG to WebP Converter
Turn SVG files into WebP in seconds. Everything happens on your device: nothing is uploaded, and there's no limit.
Your images are processed in this browser tab and never uploaded.
Why convert SVG to WebP?
Many apps, social networks and documents only accept pixel images, not vectors.
WebP files are much smaller, so websites load faster and use less storage.
What to expect
- The vector is rendered to pixels at 1024px on the long side (or larger if the SVG is bigger), so the WebP stays sharp.
- WebP is lossy, so the file gets much smaller. At the default quality (90%) the difference is very hard to see; you can change it before converting.
SVG to WebP for web graphics
Most SVGs should stay SVG on a website. Converting to WebP helps when an SVG is very complex (thousands of paths from a traced illustration), when a platform doesn't allow SVG uploads for security reasons, or for social preview images.
WebP keeps transparency and gives much smaller files than PNG for the same picture.
Tips
- Platforms such as WordPress block SVG uploads by default; WebP is accepted.
- Open Graph images for link previews should be PNG or JPG, as not every network reads WebP.
- Keep the original SVG for later edits.

About the formats
SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics, 2001) is a vector format. Instead of pixels it describes shapes, so it stays perfectly sharp at any size. It's the standard for logos and icons on the web.
WebP (WebP, 2010) is Google's modern web format. It makes files roughly 25–35% smaller than JPG or PNG at the same visual quality and supports both transparency and animation.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert SVG to WebP?
Drop your SVG files into the box above (or tap Select files), check the options, then press Convert. Each WebP downloads on its own, or you can download them all as one ZIP file.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser on your own device. Your SVG files are never sent to a server, so they stay private, and it works even on a slow connection once the page has loaded.
Is there a limit on how many SVG files I can convert?
No. Convert as many as you like, for free, without signing up. Very large batches are processed one after another so your browser stays responsive.
Will I lose quality converting to WebP?
WebP uses lossy compression, but at the default 90% quality the difference is practically invisible. Move the Quality slider up for the highest fidelity or down for smaller files.
Is WebP smaller than SVG?
For simple logos, no: SVG is tiny. For detailed illustrations with many shapes, WebP is often smaller and faster to display.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. It works in Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge on phones, tablets and computers. Nothing to install.
