Why convert RAW to TIFF?

RAW files are huge and need special software, so they can't be shared or posted directly.

Print shops, scanners and professional software expect TIFF for lossless, print-ready images.

What to expect

  • We use the full-size preview your camera stores inside the RAW file, so you get the colours you saw on the camera. For exposure or white-balance edits, use a RAW editor first.
  • The TIFF is saved uncompressed for maximum compatibility with print shops and professional software.

About the formats

RAW (Camera RAW (CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, DNG, ORF, RW2, RAF and more)) is the unprocessed sensor data saved by DSLR and mirrorless cameras. RAW files are great for editing but large, brand-specific and impossible to share as-is. Every camera stores a ready-made preview inside its RAW files, usually at full resolution. This converter uses that preview, so colours match what you saw on the camera's screen.

TIFF (Tagged Image File Format, 1986) is a high-quality format used in printing, scanning and professional photography. It stores images without quality loss and can hold several pages in one file. TIF and TIFF are the same format with a different file extension.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert RAW to TIFF?

Drop your RAW files into the box above (or tap Select files), check the options, then press Convert. Each TIFF downloads on its own, or you can download them all as one ZIP file.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser on your own device. Your RAW files are never sent to a server, so they stay private, and it works even on a slow connection once the page has loaded.

Is there a limit on how many RAW files I can convert?

No. Convert as many as you like, for free, without signing up. Very large batches are processed one after another so your browser stays responsive.

Which RAW formats are supported?

Canon (CR2, CR3), Nikon (NEF, NRW), Sony (ARW), Adobe DNG, Olympus (ORF), Panasonic (RW2), Fujifilm (RAF), Pentax (PEF), Samsung (SRW) and most others, because they all store a preview image we can read.

Will I lose quality converting to TIFF?

No. TIFF is lossless, so the converted image keeps every pixel of the original.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. It works in Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge on phones, tablets and computers. Nothing to install.
